Group IV Polyalphaolefins are used for a wide range of automotive and industrial lubricants. Group IV base oils give superior performance in high temperature protection and low temperature fluidity with a high viscosity index (VI). They also have excellent shear stability, low volatility, and excellent resistance to oxidation. These properties make Group IV well suited for applic ations that are subjected to extreme operating conditions, such as cold weather start-ups or high operating temperatures. Group IV base oils are colorless, odorless, non-toxic and non-corrosive and do not contain sulfur, nitrogen, or aromatics. These oils can be blended with other synthetic base stocks and are compatible with synthetic esters and alkylated naphthalene.
